running on empty
too many balls in the air
the Lord is gracious

after full weekend-
seeing the sky brighten to day
hitting snooze button

at my desk
trying to think gather my thoughts
about the week

evening chores
grateful for the strength
to do them

after good night's sleep
pursuing the stuff of life
more spring in my step

nice lunch today
chatting up parts salesman
for better deal

wonderful weekend
crafting with the church ladies
wearing my sneakers

after sleeping in
energy for the work day
and some chores at home

catting sitting this week
one more set of colored hair
on my pants leg

running on sleepy
problem solve with no coffee
thank you, Jesus

through the night watches
moon travels through my window
birds sing to the dawn

after the weekend
not slogging through the Monday
and all the meeings

the morning toilette
leisurely after great sleep
and good quiet time

rising early
driving slowly to work
without my coffee

today's plans
spending a hot ten minutes
cleaning the house

in the fourth watch
rising and going to work
refreshed and renewed

through the night
watching the moon traverse the sky
hear the paper come

running hard two days
searching for a hot minute
of peace and quiet

after a late night
trying to get to work
bright eyed and bushy tailed

no sleep kind of night
trying to get a nap in
before I must rise

snowy day-
singing to the radio
as I clean the car
